Dear Sir/Madam

My name is Shaun Dutton.

I am writing this email as an individual, on behalf of myself and confirm I am over 18 years old.

I confirm you may publish my name alongside my views.

I confirm my views are not required to be treated as confidential.

I am writing to you in regards to the Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill to share my views on these issues.

My view on

- 'Increase the size of the Senedd to 96 Members', is this is a total waste of money. I believe the current members of the Senedd spend the day making problems so they can 'fix' them, to keep themselves in a job. Meanwhile, claiming money back they've spent on lavish flights and holidays abroad and calling them business trips.

We don't need more Senedd members. We need fewer members that aren't dictatorial supporting leeches.

- 'Increase the maximum number of Deputy Presiding Officers from one to two', is this is also a total waste of money as this, I'm sure, is yet another highly paid position with little to no benefit for the nation or the people that live here.

- 'Increase the legislative limit on the size of the Welsh Government to 17 (plus the First Minister and Counsel General), with power to further increase the limit to 18 or 19', is, yet again, a further waste of money and sounds like they're just creating jobs for their friends.

- 'Change the Senedd’s electoral system so that all Members are elected via closed list proportional representation, with votes translated into seats via the D’Hondt formula', is this is a dangerous way to go about voting for a party. The people of Wales should, and indeed have a right to, know who they are voting for.

In regards to switching to the D'Hondt formula, nobody I know nor I can work out how this system works. It complicates things far more than is necessary, wish seems to be the aim of the current government.

- 'Repurpose and rename the Local Democracy and Boundary Commission for Wales; provide the renamed Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru (DBCC) with the functions needed to establish new Senedd constituencies and undertake ongoing reviews of Senedd constituency boundaries; and provide instructions for the DBCC to follow when undertaking boundary reviews', is an attempt to create more unnecessary jobs for friends of the higher ups.

- 'Decrease the length of time between Senedd ordinary general elections from five to four years', is something I agree with.

Thank you

Shaun Dutton
